Subject information

Classes for a transitional time.

We are thankful for the opportunity to help guide your children through these years, with classes that solidify core skills and challenge students to think.

Bible

Bible class meets five days a week, with a yearly theme across all classes. The curriculum centers on “Redemption” in sixth grade, the “Life of Christ” in seventh, and “Old Testament Themes” in eighth.

Math

Sixth grade focuses on the fundamentals, with evaluations through the year to guide seventh grade placement. In seventh and eighth grades, students are placed into Pre-Algebra or Algebra I based on motivation, maturity, and ability.

Science

The study of our physical and natural world through observation and experimentation, including evaluating the evidence that shows creation is a far better explanation for the origin of man and the universe.

Language arts

Students learn proper form for written expression and read literature that challenges their thinking and reinforces their worldview, with a continued emphasis on proper grammar.

Social studies

Studying history from a biblical perspective challenges students to consider how they can impact their culture, as citizens of both heaven and earth, for now and eternity.

Electives

A wide range of fine arts and practical studies broadens students’ experience in culture, general knowledge, and social skills.

CREW student life

Competition, conduct, and community service.

Our CREW program is an exciting program of competition and community service opportunities that enhances student life at Wilmington Christian.

Conduct
Each month, students earn points for their crew by receiving Patriot Awards, and lose points for poor conduct.
Crazed Crew Competition
Once a month, crews meet in the gym or on the field for a full class period of fun on announced competition days.
Crew calls
On any given day, crews may be called out of class for a quick, unannounced challenge. Winners earn points for their crew.
Chapel
Each Monday brings a dynamic chapel with special speakers and presentations.
Community service
Several small and a few large outreach programs in our surrounding counties each year train students to serve with the attitude of Christ.
