Student life

Bonded together as a Patriot family.

Following the example of Christ, we are called to serve Him by serving others. Chapel, small groups, service, missions, and activities give students many ways to grow together.

The G.O.A.L. program

Global, Outreach, Activities, Leadership.

The G.O.A.L. program gives students ways to share in world-wide missions, serve their neighbors in Wilmington, build school spirit, and use their God-given talents to lead.

  1. Global

Students meet brothers and sisters in Christ who are reaching lost souls around the world, as mandated in the Great Commission.

    Mission trips
  2. Outreach

Students minister both spiritually and physically to our “neighbors” in Wilmington, as demonstrated by Jesus and His disciples.

Spiritual life

Chapel that meets students where they are.

Our chapel program, BLUEPRINT, shares the gospel in culturally relevant terms. In corporate worship, students have the opportunity to meet Christ where they are, with the ultimate goal of walking daily in a committed relationship with Jesus Christ.

Chapel is a weekly program filled with music, presentations, and speakers from the faculty, students, and the local church.

Group 52 & spiritual growth

Growing in faith, together.

The high school student body is divided into small groups called Group 52, named for the prayer, work, and fasting described in the book of Nehemiah. Groups meet to pray, study God’s Word, and connect as brothers and sisters in Christ, and seniors have the opportunity to lead them.

Anchorage Retreat

A retreat to have fun, get acquainted with teachers, and be challenged spiritually, with roller skating, a rock climbing wall, boating, fishing, swimming, and class games.

See You at the Pole

One morning in September, students around the globe gather at their flagpoles to pray for their school, friends, families, churches, and communities.

National Day of Prayer

WCA participates in the National Day of Prayer as we uphold one another, our school, families, and nation in prayer.

Renovation Week

Our spiritual emphasis week gives the high school an opportunity to grow, with a keynote speaker and engaging workshops on a variety of topics.

Community service

Serving Him by serving others.

Our community service involvement was born out of a desire to help students fulfill the Christian call to discipleship and stewardship. All three school divisions take part in schoolwide drives, donating food, clothes, or toys for various charities.

Mission trips

Sharing the good news around the world.

Each year, WCA students serve Jesus Christ by serving others on mission trips. Students use their soccer and volleyball talents to host clinics that connect with kids, teens, and adults, and the Gospel is presented through skits, songs, testimonies, and preaching.

Week-long Vacation Bible School programs use puppets, drama, games, and fun competitions to share the good news with young children. Students have also worked alongside local churches: doing construction work, distributing medical supplies, and serving orphans and widows.
