Questions for WCA

Everything on the rebuilt pages comes from the current site. These items need the school’s confirmation before launch.

From batch 1: Admissions & About

1. Tour forms. The Enrollment and Preschool pages link an older preschool tour form that is still set up for 2026-27 (it says two-year-olds are no longer being enrolled) and names Cayla Horsley as preschool director. The Schedule a Tour form for 2027-28 and the staff directory name Gloria Johnson. The prototype uses the 2027-28 forms and Gloria Johnson. Can the older form be retired?

2. Where tours start. The high school tour form says tours begin at the Kids’ Campus Welcome Center. Is that true for every division?

3. Tuition year. The tuition page still shows 2025-2026 rates. Please confirm current rates and when 2027-28 rates will be published.

4. Enrollment numbers. The School Profile chart (285, 467, 225, 236) adds up to 1,213, but the total shown is 1,218.

5. Anniversary line. The WCA Advantage page says “Celebrating 56 Years.” The prototype uses “since 1969” instead, so it never goes out of date.

6. Scripture references. The Spiritual goal quotes Colossians 2:6-7 but cites Col. 3:16; the prototype uses 2:6-7. The first belief cites I Pet. 1:21, which may be meant as II Pet. 1:21 (kept as published).

7. Staff directory. Six people have no role listed (Ashley Hale, Haley Tew, Julie Springer, Abigail Donatelle, Paige Jackson, Genna Kaiser). The live “Electives” filter points to a section that doesn’t exist. A newer /teachers page has degrees and emails: should profiles like that go on the new site?

8. Family communication. The WCA Advantage page names Sycamore and SchoolCast. Are both still in use alongside Blackbaud, Brightwheel, and Clever?

9. Careers. The HR page has employee notices but no job openings. Would WCA like an openings section and an application link?

10. Campus map and hours. The current Campus Maps page is only a Google map. The Preschool page lists preschool office hours (weekdays, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.), but main office hours aren’t published. Is there a building map we can add, and what are the main office hours?

From batch 2: Academics

1. Graduates continuing their education. The High School page says about 94% of graduates attend a post-secondary institution. The School Profile says 98% pursue post-secondary education. The prototype uses 98%. Which is current?

2. HIS 206 course name. It’s listed as “Making of Modern America” on the Curriculum page and “Making of the Modern World” on the High School page. The prototype uses “The Making of Modern America.”

3. Computer lab. The Mission page describes a 27-station main computer lab; the Elementary page says 29 stations. Which is right, or are these two different labs?

4. Preschool menus. The Preschool Lunch Menus page is empty, and the “Current Lunch & Snack Menus” heading on the Preschool page has no link. Where should menus be posted? The June to August 2026 preschool summer calendars will move to the Summer Day Camp page in batch 4.

5. Kids’ Campus page. The old /kids-campus page is still public with placeholder text (“We could write something about teachers…”). The prototype redirects it to the new Preschool page.

6. Advising resource links. Several links on the College & Career page point to articles from 2010 to 2016 or to archived pages. Would Mr. Pope like to review the list? Links are carried over as published; the “Apply.com” links now go to Appily and are labeled that way.

7. Elementary Bible video. The Elementary page embeds a video about choosing the DeepRoots curriculum. The prototype links to the DeepRoots site instead; send us the video link if you’d like it embedded.

From batch 3: Arts & Athletics

1. Elementary athletics dates. The intramurals page lists spring and fall 2026 sessions, which have now passed, so the prototype labels them as each program’s most recent session. When will 2027 dates and costs be posted? The Net Effect (4th-5th grade) cost isn’t listed.

2. Program names. The Elementary page lists “Lil Kickers” soccer and “Lil Sluggers” baseball intramurals, while the intramurals page lists Patriots Jr Intramural Soccer. Is Lil Kickers the older name for Patriots Jr soccer, and is Lil Sluggers still offered?

3. Email addresses. The intramurals page lists Chris Staton’s @wcanc.com address and Jenny Tyrpak’s @wcanc.com address, while the rest of the site uses @wilmingtonchristian.com addresses. Which domain is current? The prototype keeps them as published.

4. Athletics numbers. The Patriot Club page cites 26 teams, more than half of students playing a sport, and 14 state championships in the last 10 years (6 in the last 5). Are these current, given the 2025 volleyball and 2026 basketball titles?

5. Patriot Club and sponsors. The two Patriot Club pages (/patriotclub and /patriot-bluc) and the 2025-2026 Sponsors page are merged into one page, with sponsors listed by name. Would WCA like sponsor logos and links, and a way for businesses to ask about sponsoring?

6. PGC Basketball banner. The Winter Teams page has a “Trusted Partner” banner for PGC Basketball camps. The prototype leaves it off. Should it appear on the new Teams page or with the sponsors?

7. WCA TV live player. The current WCA TV page embeds a Restream live player and four past livestreams. The prototype links to the NFHS Network and the YouTube playlist and features the 2025 Christmas concert. Should the Restream player be embedded on the new page? Also, WCA’s NFHS Network address is spelled “wilmlington.” The link works, but NFHS may be able to correct it.

8. Music lesson form. The lesson interest form asks for the student’s grade for 2026-2027. Will a 2027-28 form be posted? Is the $80 individual Little Mozarts rate per month, like the group rate?

9. Gallery pages. The four photo galleries (Around the School, Student Life, Fine Arts, and Athletics) have photos but no text. The prototype gathers 55 of their photos into one Photo Gallery page, and the old gallery addresses redirect to its sections. Would WCA like to add more photos or albums?

10. Elementary athletics photos. The intramurals page uses stock photos (one still shows a Shutterstock watermark), so the prototype leaves them off. Do you have photos from Patriots Jr soccer, HoopStars, or Net Effect?

11. Fine arts awards. The Music page says students have won numerous awards in state and national fine arts competitions, without specifics. Are there recent results you’d like featured?

From batch 4: Community

1. Summer Day Camp 2027. The camp pages show summer 2026 dates, rates, and menus, which have passed, so the prototype labels them as 2026. When will 2027 details be posted? The camp page also asks rising kindergarten families to contact Cayla Horsley; the prototype sends them to the Preschool page instead (see question 1).

2. Summer reading links. On the current Summer Reading page, the Kindergarten and 1st grade buttons open the same list, so the prototype labels it “Kindergarten and 1st grade.” Is that intended, or is a 1st grade list missing?

3. Limited access calendars. The Calendars page lists eight limited access calendars (faculty and staff, elementary, Kids’ Campus, middle school, high school, and fine arts). Who should see them, and should they stay on the public site?

4. PTF pages. The six PTF pages (Who, What, Why, News, Teacher Appreciation, and Join) are merged into one page. The newsletter links open Canva’s editor; a view-only link or PDF would be safer. The Teacher Appreciation note thanks families for 2026: should it stay up year-round?

5. Health office. The healthcare coordinators, Natalie Westbrook and Tonya Upchurch, use @wcanc.com addresses and aren’t in the staff directory. The Health page calls the building “Noland,” and the College & Career page says “Nolan.” Which is right? Also, the old /contact address is the Health Office page today, so it redirects there; you may prefer it to go to Contact Us at launch.

6. Crisis resources. The current page says “Call 988 or text Home to 741741.” Texting HOME to 741741 reaches the Crisis Text Line, a separate service, and the 988 Lifeline also takes texts at 988. Would WCA like the two listed separately?

7. Giving. On the current Giving page, the fourth fund is titled “Patriot Scholarship Fund,” but its text and graphic describe the Athletic Field Lighting Fund, so the prototype uses the lighting name. The Playground Project Fund is described as the 2025-2026 focus. Is it still current?

8. Website forms. The Volunteer and Alumni pages use website forms (name, email, subject, message). In the prototype they’re drafts that send nothing. Who should receive them at launch?

9. Alumni stories. The current testimonials page spells the first graduate’s name “Zach Johnson”; the prototype uses “Zach Judson,” as on the homepage. The four stories are from the classes of 2010 to 2017. Are newer stories available?

10. Student life details. The Student Life posts date from 2018. One lists “Pretty in Pink” and another “Beyond the Pink,” and the 7th District leadership conference is described as held with the BB&T Leadership Institute (BB&T is now Truist). Are these programs current?

11. Family portals. The old Portal Demo page links Sycamore at app.sycamoreeducation.com and Blackbaud at parent.smarttuition.com, while the rest of the site uses app.sycamoreschool.com and parent.blackbaud.school. Which logins are current? The Sycamore help video is from 2014. Is there a newer one?

12. Staff forms. Staff Forms is linked from the Family Portals menu, as on the current site. Should it stay public, or move behind a staff sign-in?

From the final review: pages outside the old menu

1. Spiritual Life page. The current site has a Spiritual Life page (/new-page-3) that isn’t in its menu. The prototype rebuilds it and adds it to the About menu. Its chapel times (for example, middle school on Tuesdays at 1:30) and service list (Pretty in Pink, Coats for the Coatless, Boys & Girls Clubs) may be older. Are they current?

2. STEM Lab Fund. The STEM Lab Fund page (/stem-lab-fund) has live donation links and a $100,000 goal, but it isn’t on the Giving page. The prototype lists it on Support WCA. Is the campaign still active?

3. Staff training. The unlisted Faculty & Staff Training page (/training) is now part of Staff Forms & Training.

4. Pages to retire. These unlisted pages have no public content to carry over: /kiosk (a TV display), /groups (an empty Google Groups page), /general-information-copy (empty), /new-page-2-1 (template placeholder text), and the empty store page /new-products. The empty /carnival-armband-presales page redirects to the PTF page, and the 2016 announcement pages redirect to the Calendar. Two may still be used behind the scenes: /brand (branding guidelines for staff) and /external-linked-images (images for emails). Should those two stay available?

5. Menu quick links. The old menus linked straight to documents and pages that are now sections, like the athletic handbook, academic brochure, summer reading lists, and health forms. Each new menu now has a short row of quick links to those.
